International Relations

Alyssia Canti from Nîmes, France - Erasmus+ Trainee at the University of Zadar

We are excited to share the experience of Alyssia Canti, a Communications student from Lycée CCI Gard in Nîmes, France, who joined our International Relations Office for her Erasmus+ traineeship. Alyssia played a key role in enhancing our social media presence, developing a strategic base for engagement, and conducting an Erasmus+ survey on student mobility fears which was used as a basis for an upcoming Panel: Why Are You Afraid of Erasmus?. She also organized an Instagram photo and video contest, helping to bring our social media platforms to life.

Her work was guided by her mentor, Mrs. Béatrice Bellet, vice-principal in charge of higher education at Lycée CCI Gard, who tracked her progress both online and in person, visiting Zadar to provide support. This collaboration has sparked a long-term partnership between the University of Zadar and Lycée CCI Gard, opening doors for future students from Nîmes to gain valuable international experience with us.

Alyssia reflected on her time with us, saying:

As a Communications student this year, I wondered how other countries approached their work in the field. The International Relations Office provided an opportunity for me to find out, allowing me to learn more about communications and cultural differences simultaneously.
Their approach toward me was always friendly. The International Relations Office even helped me with my accommodation, which was located near the new campus in the new dormitory. It was comfortable and very affordable.
What I noticed in Zadar is how easy it is to communicate with people, as most of them are bilingual! This was a pleasant surprise. I can also confirm that this experience has greatly helped me develop both my professional vocabulary and my everyday English.
Regarding my professional experience, my main tasks were to improve the university's social media presence (to attract more students, staff, and teachers and encourage them to go abroad) and to organize events and contests (such as the Erasmus+ Coffee and the photo/video contest this year).
This internship pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow both personally and professionally. I would recommend it to anyone considering an internship! I thoroughly enjoyed working with my colleagues and am grateful for this unforgettable Erasmus experience. Thank you for everything!

Alyssia’s enthusiasm and contributions have truly made an impact, and we are proud to have been part of her Erasmus+ journey. Her story showcases the power of international mobility in both personal and professional growth.

Thank you, Alyssia, for all your hard work and dedication! We look forward to continuing this partnership and welcoming more students from Lycée CCI Gard.
